Rob from Eclipse bikes who supplied the bafang motor provided exceptional customer support, going above and beyond any other seller.
Rob even takes the motor apart and replaces the grease to extend the lifetime and reliability of the motor.
Dont buy from china you will never get a return within a month (or ever) or any customer support, and you will pay import tax.Our speed controller blew up and was replace within three days !!!
Buy local from a trusted supplier like rob and his price are amazinly low if not the cheapest in England !!

Bafang Speed Controller Burnout
This is the first controller, which mysteriously burnt out during a ride out. Not sure as to why it happend. The settings on the speed controller were limited to 28A at 48V, the BMS was limited to 40A. We contacted the supplier of the motor, who replaced the speed controller no questions asked !
If you have a smart BMS limit its output as a double safeguard ! Buy from a local supplier as replacement parts can be sent quicky.
On receiving the new controller we limited the speed controller amps to 27A and the Smart battery amps to 27A also to be on the safe side. We fitted the speed controller which was an easy job, set it all up and so far after 361 miles we have had no problem. I have a feeling it was just a bad speed controller. Many thanks to the supplier who was fantastic.
