Malting The Barley<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We could not get malted barley so we need to DIY it<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

4 trays with holes <\/strong>drilled in the top,\u00a0 fill two trays with <\/strong>1\/3 with barley<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fill 2\/3 with warm water. <\/strong>Remove everything from the surface<\/strong><\/p>\n

Replace the water every 4 to 8 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cover and wait 1 to 2 days until the barley splits<\/strong><\/p>\n

When split keep covered and turn every 2 to 4 hour\u00a0 spray with water<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once the barley has split turn and spray until the shoot is the same size as the seed difficult to see until you see it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two schools of though, one says keep under water for 1 to 2 days and the other says flood and then drain\u2026 let do both and see what happens and as in turned out the flood and drain was ready to start drying the morning of the 17th\u2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rain stops play or does it \u2026.. oven set at 90\u00b0C with door open<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remove all the root and then grind 4.908KG of malted barley, done.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started with 5KG finished with 4.908KG of malted barley<\/strong><\/p>\n
